About Sources.Africa
A mission-driven African infrastructure venture: commercial discipline, public-interest partnerships, local ownership.
Our mission
Sources.Africa is a mission-driven African infrastructure venture. It uses commercial discipline and public-interest partnerships to build systems that communities can ultimately own and operate locally. The platform is a continental hub: Cameroon is the ready legal entity; other national branches are planned.

Founding story
It began with one night in Foumban
While staying with family in Foumban, Cameroon, our founder faced a convergence of problems usually treated separately. A power cut interrupted a CPAP device used for severe obstructive sleep apnoea. When electricity returned, smoke from wood and charcoal fires drifted in from several directions, making breathing difficult even with the device running.
The experience revealed a wider reality: energy insecurity, household air pollution, waste, deforestation and health vulnerability are not separate crises. They enter the same home, often on the same evening.
Sources.Africa grew from a simple question: what infrastructure could address these problems together, using resources already present in African communities? The answer is a locally operated circular system that converts organic waste into clean cooking gas, organic fertiliser and, where needed, on-site electricity - while reducing smoke exposure and strengthening community resilience.
Sleep apnoea and CPAP are described factually as the origin of the problem statement. Biogas does not treat or cure sleep apnoea; one personal experience is not clinical evidence.
How we work
Principles that guide every station we deploy.
Sovereign by design
Infrastructure owned and operated locally - never rented from abroad. We transfer the technology, then step quietly into the background.
Integrated, not piecemeal
A single station addresses energy, fertiliser, food, waste, clean air, deforestation pressure and municipal cost together.
Built to be handed over
Local teams are trained to build, run and maintain every unit. Success means we are no longer needed.
Evidence and safety
Claims are labelled. Pilots are measured. Safety, consent and community agency are non-negotiable.
Where we are today
Honest stage disclosure: we are present and preparing ? not pretending stations are already running.
Ready foundations
Cameroon hub entity readiness; system design; bilingual platform; field presence and partner conversations for first installs.
Building now
First evidence pilot design, health-actor outreach, safety and measurement protocols. Stations are not yet installed.
Requires scale
Multi-country branches, solar/storage co-modules and government packages after evidence.
